Meet Jimmy and his family
I never intended to write a comprehensive book on the Disney Vacation Club. It all began with updating a financial model, but it grew into an obsession. My wife and I spent over six years gathering information for the DVC Field Guide Book, which I believe is the most comprehensive DVC book ever written.
We're Disney nerds, having taken over 50 trips to Walt Disney World and Disneyland, experiencing every season and staying at most WDW resorts. Despite our deep love for Disney, we didn't become DVC owners until 2014. It was a journey of discovery and excitement, leading us to buy our second contract in 2016.
I'm an accountant by trade, but by far, my best work is being a grandfather to five amazing grandchildren: Halle, Cooper, Jax, Evelyn, and Knox. Along with their parents, we take a DVC vacation in a grand villa every other year around Thanksgiving, a trip that would be impossible if we didn't own a DVC membership.
However, a Disney Vacation Club membership is not for everyone. It demands a considerable upfront expense and ongoing annual dues for potentially 50 years. Some people are just not ready for that kind of commitment. I know I wasn't at one time.
The DVC Field Guide, now in its 3rd publication, is a comprehensive ownership manual to DVC membership that began with my own analysis. It's a wealth of information that will undoubtedly help you make your decision with confidence.
